A program dedicated to providing support and advocacy to survivors of sexual harassment, sexual assault and rape for adults and adolescents. Advocates are specially trained to respond to calls, either in person or over the telephone. The primary goal of our advocates is to offer non-judgmental support, and link the survivor to options that may work best.
Advocates are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by calling(541) 779-4357 or 855-216-2111. Advocates are not mandated reporters as mandated by Oregon State Law.
Advocates accompany and support survivors through medical, legal, and other systems. Advocates also work with non-offending family members to help them be supportive by providing information and tools that can be used to empower and support the survivor. SAVS works from an empowerment model. This means that we support survivors in whatever choices are right for them. We support survivors whether they choose to report the sexual assault or not.
In addition to working with survivors, Sexual Assault Victim Services Advocates provide education to the community at large, service providers, and high school and college students. Our goal is to create community awareness, help individuals understand the dynamics of sexual assault, and to dispel prevalent myths surrounding sexual harassment, sexual assault and rape.
Our services are free and confidential.
