The objective of parenting education programs is to provide opportunities for the development of self-esteem, personal growth and constructive change that facilitates positive relationships between parents and their children. In addition to being a general support for all parents, parenting programs are a resource for those whose relationship with their children has become abusive and conflicting.
Parenting education programs are committed to working for social change by eliminating all forms of violence, promoting access to resources, facilitating personal empowerment, promoting equality irrespective of race, sex, economic status, religion or sexual preference through services which are affordable and open to everyone.
Parenting education programs provide a sharing and supportive environment for parents aimed at managing stress within family life and nurturing a healthy parent-child relationship. Parenting programs are dedicated to helping both single and coupled parents help themselves to become more effective parents.
Parenting education programs are guided by two principals: Every person has the right to live and mature in a safe and secure environment and individuals are capable of positive change through participation in programs of support, encouragement and education.
