Community Works offers volunteer opportunities in both our Advocacy Services and Youth and Family Services Programs.
Community Works’ Volunteer Training is required for Advocacy Services positions such as Courthouse Volunteer Advocate, Dunn House Shelter Advocate, HelpLine Volunteer Advocate, Hispanic Services Volunteer, and Children’s Program Volunteer. All Advocacy Services volunteer positions require completion of 40 hours of advocacy training, a criminal background check, and application.
Volunteer training takes place over two weekends for a total of 32 hours and is offered three times each year.
Upcoming 2018 Training Dates:
Winter Training: January 12 & 13 and January 26 & 27
Spring Training: April 20 & 21 and May 4 & 5
9 am – 5 pm each day
