Chelsea Sunitsch, Community Advocacy Services Manager

Chelsea became involved with Community Works as a volunteer in 2017. She then joined the staff as the Trafficking Intervention Advocate in 2019, and in 2022 moved into her current position as CAS Manager. In this role, Chelsea supervises community advocates in a variety of roles including the Sexual Assault Lead Advocate, co-located Healthcare Advocates, Hispanic Services Coordinator, Trafficking Intervention Coordinator, and co-located DHS Child Welfare and Self-Sufficiency Advocates. She is honored to support an excellent team of skilled advocates in their difficult and rewarding work serving survivors of violence as they seek safety, healing, and self-sufficiency.

When not at work, Chelsea enjoys seeking solace in nature on hikes, enjoying delicious food and spending time with her beloved pets. She feels grateful to work for an organization that shares her values and makes a meaningful impact in people’s lives. She deeply appreciates the confidential advocacy that Community Works offers, and has experienced first-hand the benefits of having the support of a privileged advocate while navigating the effects of violence in her own life.

“Ours is not the task of fixing the entire world at once, but of stretching out to mend the part of the world that is within our reach.”
