Erin Martin-Fournier, Advocacy Services Director

Erin joined the Community Works team in 2018 as our Community Advocacy Manager in 2022 Erin was promoted to Advocacy Services Director. She grew up in the snowy mountains of Montana, playing basketball and volleyball before she found her passion for working with people in crisis. During her time at University of Montana studying Gender studies, she volunteered as a sexual assault resource for students. After graduating and working with child care agencies, she relocated with her family to Oregon for more social service employment opportunities. She quickly found a job working to support families rebuilding their lives after severe trauma experiences.

“It’s important to me that we support survivors and walk alongside them in their journey. Trauma doesn’t define us and helping others see their resiliency, worth, and amazing problem solving skills has always filled my cup. I believe we need to allow survivors to find their voice and use it to foster a community of support and change. I want to inspire others to stand up and never give up because someone somewhere believes in them.”  When she is not trying to save the world, you can catch her hiking with her family, trying to keep up with her Netflix queue, quoting Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and skating with the local Southern Oregon roller derby team SO Derby.
