Why Community Works?
Founded in 1996, (celebrating our 30th anniversary) Community Works is the only domestic and sexual violence resource center serving Jackson County, Oregon. Community Works was created as a merger between three community organizations that had been providing crisis intervention in Southern Oregon since the mid-1970s. In 2025, Community Works provided:

- 43,763 essential supportive services provided to adults and youth survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, and human trafficking.
- 10,000+ crisis calls on our 24/7 HelpLine (541-779-4357), where a trained staff or volunteer is there to bring help to anyone in need.
- 1,905 people received in-person advocacy support.
- 1,315 people served by advocates embedded in partner agencies, increasing in-person access. Staff are stationed at Children’s Advocacy Center, Community Justice, the courthouse, DHS, Medford Police Department, Rogue Community College, Sheriff’s Office, and SOU
- 699 households with adults and children received rental assistance to secure safe housing and never have to choose between abuse and homelessness.
- 469 protective orders assistance provided, helping survivors secure critical legal protections through restraining orders, stalking orders, sexual assault protective orders, and protective orders for people who are elderly or disabled.
